BioNTech scientist: Need a third dose of Pfizer vaccine

The scientist who helped create the Pfizer / BioNTech vaccine says a third dose will be needed as immunity to the virus weakens. Dr. Ozlem Tureci, co-founder of BioNTech said that people will have to be vaccinated every year against coronavirus, as for seasonal flu. According to the scientist, the immunity caused by vaccines against the virus decreases over time.
Tureci's comments come after Pfizer CEO Albert Bourla said a few days ago that people may need a boost or third dose of the Covid-19 vaccine within 12 months of full vaccination. Pfizer said earlier this month that their vaccine was more than 91% effective in protecting against the virus and more than 95% effective against the seriously ill, up to six months after the second dose./KC/dritare.net
