The Minister of Health and Social Protection, Ogerta Manastirliu, from the 'Qemal Stafa' school in Tirana, where the vaccination process for teachers is underway, stated that the vaccination process has gone smoothly.

"There are more than 6,100 teachers who have been vaccinated so far. There are 7 vaccination centers in Tirana, while vaccination is continuing throughout the country ", said Manastirliu.

The Minister of Health stressed that following the decision of the European Medicines Regulatory Authority, the acceptance by teachers for performing the antiCOVID vaccine has increased.

"The hesitation we have encountered in the first days has decreased. The European Medicines Authority yesterday stated that the AstraZeneca vaccine is a vaccine that is safe and effective. It is a vaccine that offers an even higher protection than what has been proven so far in its testing phases ", said Manastirliu.

The Minister of Health said that the negotiations for other vaccine doses are nearing completion.

"We are nearing the end of the negotiations and we believe that very soon we will have good news regarding the start of a mass vaccination, also reducing the age groups for vaccination," said Manastirliu.

The vaccination process is continuing with a combined calendar for teachers, seniors over 80 and health personnel, in focal points as well as in schools across the country.
